Lifeline

A lifeline is installed over a scaffolding structure or work area where a permanent anchor point is not available, giving workers a secure line to connect to while working at height. It ensures that if a person loses their footing, their fall is arrested before they hit a lower level or the ground — protecting them from serious injury.

Lifelines are especially important on temporary structures like scaffolding, where the working platform changes as the project progresses and fixed anchor points can't always be built in. bNiks LLP designs and calculates these systems so the lifeline, its anchors, and its connections can safely handle a fall - not just support a worker's weight during normal use.

Lifeline 2D CAD Drawings

Detailed layout drawings showing lifeline routing, anchor point positions, and clearance zones — used for site installation, client approval, and safety planning.

Lifeline 3D CAD Models

Full 3D models of the lifeline system in context with the structure or scaffold, showing anchor geometry, span lengths, and worker access paths before installation.

Lifeline Load Calculations

Calculations covering static and dynamic loads generated during a fall arrest event, ensuring the lifeline and its anchors can safely absorb and hold the required forces.

Verification of horizontal lifeline sag and deflection under load, confirming the system stays within safe limits and maintains adequate fall clearance below the worker.

Lifeline Sag & Deflection Verification
Anchor Point Stability Check Against Uplift

Analysis confirming anchor fixings and base connections resist shear and sliding forces from dynamic fall loading, keeping anchor points secure under sudden load.

Anchor Point Stability Check Against Sliding/Shear

Verification that energy absorbers, shock absorbers, cable/wire rope, and end connections can safely carry the calculated dynamic load at every point in the system — not just the overall span.

Scaffolding & Lifeline Components Load Verification / Connection Analysis

Verification that couplers, ledgers, standards and connection points can safely carry the calculated loads at every joint in the structure - not just the overall frame.

A summary report consolidating all calculations, drawings, and stability checks into a single certified package — ready for site approval, third-party stamping, or client submission.

Fall Clearance & Compatibility Calculations
Lifeline with Scaffold Design Report with Conclusion

Calculations confirming total fall clearance distance (free fall + deceleration + safety margin) is sufficient for the work height, and that the lifeline is compatible with the fall arrest equipment being used.
